Here is a pic from my shark catch this weekend on a family trip to Myrtle. Below is an article a fish blog did not me.
“I was catching your normal small shore fish @7a.m. myrtle beach when my rod bent and my reel started screaming. He almost lined me twice. I only had 15lb line tied to a normal shore rig, but my knots held strong. He moved me a good distance down shore and as I moved more people started following wanting to see what I caught. I was hoping for a large redfish never thinking I would have been able to keep a shark on this long. But about a half hour later I got him on shore. I was a celeb for a few mins while everyone took pics. It was one of the greatest fishing experiences I have ever had.”
Matt: Where did you get your gear – that looked like you had light tackle.
“My parents live in a retired community with some lakes and I fish them a lot. This old guy just gave me all his old fishing gear. This rod is so old school I love it. It has a good reel with this cool screw together rod system and a wooden handle. The rod was cracked so I used some fly thread and epoxy to fix it. But the old girl held together and the fight was epic.”

Here is my latest painting. I was inspired by a BWO dark emerger that Fly Fish Food created.https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/884534_329443953844392_2036697259_o.jpgtied.It was a really creative tie and looked like an alien and the moment I saw it I had to paint it.The creativity and skill that I continue to see across the fly fishing community is really exciting and inspires me almost every day.

Ok you know when you are at work daydreaming of your favorite spot on the river. Well this is that. I had this day dream because my spot has been blown out by high water for like three weeks. So this is my dream.A Towee skiff I do not own, a experienced bahama flats guide working in Fort Mill S.C., also does not exist, and me at my favorite spot having a popper getting inhaled by a monster bass. So when you can’t have the real thing just create it.only about six hours into this painting fun and quick

First in the mouth series. I am up in the air with doing more like this. What is your opinion should I just stay with the flies? Or just do the fish without the flies?
